Dr. Vijay Rajana

MBBS, MD Community Medicine | Public Health Specialist

Dr Vijay Rajana is a Public Health Specialist with a Background in Community Medicine from Andhra Medical College, with extensive experience in preventive health, epidemiology, and health systems strengthening. His professional work spans district, state, and national levels across government health services, academic institutions, and internationally supported public health initiatives.

He has served as State Epidemiologist, contributing to disease surveillance, outbreak investigation, and public health preparedness. He has also worked as State Technical Officer and State Lead for large health system strengthening projects, including initiatives supported by international development partners such as USAID, focusing on system assessments, critical care and referral networks, laboratories, oxygen systems, and surveillance platforms.

A significant component of his work has been in One Health, emphasising the interconnection between human, animal, and environmental health, with experience in intersectoral coordination and zoonotic disease preparedness. He has also been involved in airport and port health services, implementation of International Health Regulations, and public health emergency planning. Currently, he works as an Assistant Professor of Community Medicine at the NRI Institute of Medical Sciences in Visakhapatnam.

Narayana Vaidyalaya reflects his long-standing vision of promoting health before disease, integrating evidence-based public health practice with holistic approaches and Indian knowledge traditions, and fostering conscious living at individual and community levels.


Dr. Amaleswari Katta

MBBS, MD Community Medicine | Public Health Physician

Dr. Amaleswari Katta is a Public Health Physician with strong academic grounding and field experience in community medicine, epidemiology, and health education. She completed her postgraduate training in Community Medicine from Andhra Medical College and has served in academic and public health roles across multiple institutions.

She has worked inAIIMS Mangalagiri and other medical colleges, actively contributing to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and training of health professionals. She has also served as a District Epidemiologist, where she was involved in disease surveillance, outbreak investigations, COVID-19 monitoring, data analysis, and coordination with district and state health authorities.Currently, she works as an Assistant Professor of Community Medicine at the NRI Institute of Medical Sciences in Visakhapatnam.

Dr. Amaleswari has participated in several national public health programmes, including COVID-19 response, Pulse Polio, Mission Indradhanush, Measles–Rubella vaccination campaigns, nutrition education, and community health surveys. Her academic interests include epidemiology, non-communicable diseases, maternal and child health, environmental health, nutrition, and social determinants of health.

At Narayana Vaidyalaya, she brings a compassionate, community-oriented perspective, emphasizing preventive care, health education, ethical practice, and balanced living.
